Open Call: Small Works
Small Works is an upcoming group exhibition at Soft Times gallery, where selected artists will exhibit 1-2 works. This is dimension-specific exhibit, where all works will be 11"x14, in portrait (vertical) orientation.

Theme (The following submission guidelines are important for this themed exhibit, to ensure a cohesive installation):

Works must be exactly 11"x14" and in portrait (vertical) orientation, with no additional framing, appendages, or additions extending beyond those dimensions.

The depth range for this exhibit is 7/8" minimum, 3" maximum.

Works in landscape (horizontal) orientation will not be considered.

Digital artworks are not accepted.

Photographs are not accepted (note that mixed media pieces that include photography ARE eligible).

Works must be directly on a panel or canvas, or mounted onto a wood panel (framed works and works on paper are not accepted).

Any subject matter is welcome.

Artists residing in the U.S. may submit - unfortunately we will not be accepting international submissions for this call.

There is a $20 administrative submission fee, and each artist may submit up to 3 pieces.

March 1st, 2023 - Submission form opens on this page

May 1st, 2023 - Submission deadline (Form closes at 11:59 PM PT on May 1st - Monday evening)

Decisions will be distributed no later than June 10th, 2023

Selected artworks must arrive to the gallery no later than June 20th, 2023.
The exhibit will be on view at the gallery in July 2023. For this 2nd annual iteration of the Small Works exhibition, Soft Times will be welcoming a guest juror - Dr. Margarita Lila Rosa!
